I'm out of excuses, goals, qualifications, and exclusions: I am a runner. I mean, today alone: I ran over 5 miles at an even 6.0 mph pace easily and could've kept going if it weren't dark I wasn't bored I kept saying all weekend I should go and felt lazy, guilty, and antsy for not I may be starting to schedule my life around running I wondered what my mile splits were I wondered what my heart rate was (not that I would do anything with the info, I was just curious) I contemplated a Garmin, though I really don't want anymore accessories I'm spoiled by running outdoors and already dreading the treadmill and the track Tony finally noticed that my legs look shapelier and more defined I'm starting to lose weight again, yay! (ok this started since last week, but still)and of course: I ENJOYED MYSELFAnd I have to set myself some new goals. This past Wednesday I registered to run my first race, a 5-miler on Thanksgiving Day. My goal was to come in under 55 minutes; now I'm pretty confident I can come in under 50 :D Another goal is to get a chance to go running with snmnstrz21 sometime -- maybe at the Cleveland Marathon's 10K in May? I guess I should also aim to run for a full hour (which I felt I could've done tonight, stupid darkness) and I also want to get my pace down to 9-minute miles. And maybe up my running to 5 days/week. Or get some cross-training in there somewhere. I don't know! I never know what to do with myself after I've run and walked and stretched myself out -- should I just flop down and relax? Should I ease myself slowly back into sedentaryness? I never really bothered to look into that because it wasn't an issue until 2 weeks ago. Maybe I'll go shower or get a --oh, dinner :) Current Mood: pleased

Oh my sweet God, no movie as stupid as 2012 has any right to be TWO HOURS AND THIRTY-EIGHT MINUTES. I drank HALF a smuggled 12 oz bottle of Coke (Tiny Coke, if you will), and nearly DIED. My bladder is BRUISED. My mom's the disaster movie junkie--she hasn't seen a movie in the theater in six months (I think she last one she saw was Up), so I went for her sake. Man, I hate disaster movies. I worry about this stuff enough, you know? I'm not really into watching implausibly connected characters run and weep and do noble shit and die horribly for two hours (AND THIRTY-EIGHT MINUTES). I'm okay with watching shit blow up; I just don't want to watch the cast meeble on about it. And let me tell you, internets, shit does not start blowing up until FIFTY-SEVEN (57) minutes into the movie. If you think I give a shit about John Cusack's ex-marital problems, you are WRONG, Roland Emmerich. And even the next hour and a half has way too much wibbling about humanity. BLOW SHIT UP. BLOW IT UP NOWWWWWWWWWW. Seriously: go buy a ticket to this thing, walk in fifty-seven minutes late, watch John Cusack and family outrun an earthquake in a limo (because this part is THE MOST AWESOME THING I HAVE EVER SEEN, at the very least the most awesome thing I have ever seen involving either an earthquake or a limo), and then after they get to Vegas, LEAVE. If you've seen Deep Impact and The Poseidon Adventure, you've pretty much seen everything else. In fact, you can probably just watch Dodge the Freeway in the trailer; I didn't watch it, but my mother says pretty much all the awesome stuff is in there, and the rest of the movie is just a game of Guess Who's Gonna Die (a winner is me!). I was also able to call not one but TWO ridiculous romances, because it was that kind of movie. Honestly, earthquake in a limo and Thandie Newton's French: best things in the movie. Everything else I laughed at until I was seized with urinary tract regret for the entire last hour. (OMFG THE WOLFMAN TRAILER WAS SO AWESOME IT IS WHAT THE INSIDE OF MY HEAD LOOKS LIKE. I was seriously just sitting there all a-squee, clapping my fists [so it would be quiet!] chanting "WOLFMAN WOLFMAN WOLFMAN!!!!!!" and my mother was like, You are so weird.) I also grabbed a few sheets of printer paper to fold up and stuff in my purse--turns out that you can just squeak by on six pages and the back of the first page if you take notes sparingly. (THIS IS THE THING OF WHICH WE DO NOT SPEAK. WE DO NOT JINX IT. IT MAY STILL NOT HAPPEN.) (Zomg e-book! The Annotated Movies in Fifteen Minutes: Wizards!) I have a new roommate! Andrew, Steven & I have welcomed Elliot into our fold. The cat approves. Today is gorgeous. It's 72 and sunnie with a slight breeze! Excellent! I am doing laundry. Woo. The other day I did a MASSIVE reorganization of the living room and put 98% of the stuff that was in there into the basement. w00t! Haven't done too much cause my dust allergies are so bad that I'm literally breaking into hives and the roof of my mouth has been itching for days! So strange. But Andrew bought me those medical masks. HAHAH! So I can continue. Just trying to organize my massive amount of kitchen stuff. Oi. It's overwhelming. We've also been looking at couches. Found one I adored at Ashley Furniture more than the one we liked at Ikea, but it's actually a NICE couch, not like, Idea disposable. Ashley Couch (which is decidedly more cinnamon in person. More of a rust color.) and Ikea Couch (which has storage under the chaise, and turns into a double bed, with no bar in the middle!) I think the cinnamon one is stunning, but the Ikea one is terribly practical (shocker that). Today we're going to another furniture store to check out more couches. It's an annoying process, but it needs to be done. Right now my grandma's chair is the only real comfy seating in there. Oh! And there's another chair. But yeah. Have I mentioned how well my Juliet has adjusted? She is one happy cat. When I brought all my stuff here, she was SO EXCITED to rub on everything, and spent quite a bit of time napping on my bed (Elliot's gonna be using it). Pippi left behind these Friskies treats that her cats didn't like, and so I tried to give them to Juliet. She usually hates most treats, but I figured what the hell. She LOVES them. Like, will stare at you and yell at you for more, kind of yell. LOL... she's so cute. Anyrate. We're off to play with furniture and torment the sales people. They looooove us. We didn't even like anything at the one place. Still waiting to hear from a job I interviewed for. *worries lip* But! I am hopeful :) *flits* Tags: andrew, friends, kitties, merryland, moving Current Location: 21701, the bedroom Current Mood: happy Current Music: Kids playing outside

Lots of SCA stuff for those of you not who don't play. :-) Thank you farmhouse_ghost for such a fantastic event! What a great team of people! I can now strike out another goal on my 101 list. I entered an A&S competition...and then I won! I am still shocked. I am now my barony's A&S champion. *squee* I got some wonderful feedback on how to improve my work and my documentation. I got to follow lady_kathryn_r as Baronial champion. She is stupidly talented. She also got her AoA which was the whole reason why I stayed for Court in the first place! So many wonderful artisans came. The Venetian Blown glass were fantastic and I loved the beautiful constructed arrows which were embedded in a French shield. Heh. Being French Persona, I found that funny. Now I have a simply beautiful table made by Tristan, and I also won ceramics category, and received a Golden Lyre from HRM brenwenthefaire. HRM gave Izzy the Queens Honor of Distinction for the fabulous Gluten Free spread she set out. For those of you celiacs on my list, I was COMPLETELY spoiled for choice. I haven't been able to eat at an event for about three years and yesterday I was stuffed! There was quiche, cake with fresh whipped cream, humus, little bread bits for dipping, tzatziki, dolma, various cheeses, pickles, meat, rice pudding. All safe and with a big sign that stated Gluten free, do not contaminate. I don't think I was able to express my gratitude at such a marvelous gesture. I ate...and I ate. Then she gave me some left overs. Gwen said I need a larger coronet because by the end of court one mistake was snowballed since I went up 3 or 4 times. They kept calling me lady and I'm a baroness. hah Since my old coronet died at Birka, I will have to work on that. :-) Here is the aquamanile Then top it all off I told rosettederhiems how much nrawling liked her wine and she gave us a bottle. Which I then drank at dinner. It was lovely. What a wonderful day. Current Mood: surprised
